Bassinet Helmet
HL1017
Availability: In stock.
Quick Overview
This helm style became popular in the late 13th century, quickly replacing the Great Helm because the rounder shape gave the pigface a closer more secure fit.
Towards the late 14th century, the long snouted appearance had earned it the nickname Hounskull, or Pig-face bascinet.
This is an excellent reproduction of the Pigface as it was circa 1390 A.D.
It is made of hand-forged 18 gauge, low carbon, A-36 mild steel. This metallurgical composition provides excellent resilience, durability and will polish to high sheen.
